Facebook Reels are a new way to create short, entertaining videos, get discovered by new audiences and be part of cultural moments on Facebook. Effects and music can be added to your reel or use your own original audio, allowing you to bring your ideas to life and share them with your audience. Reels you create will appear in places such as Facebook Feed, the Reels section on Facebook or your Reels profile.

Reels allow you to share your content with your friends while giving you the opportunity to be discovered by the larger Facebook community.

For people aged 18 and older, privacy settings for reels on Facebook are set to public.

You can change the audience for each individual reel or update your privacy settings to “public permanently”. Your friends may also see your reels in places such as Facebook Feed.

After you’ve shared a reel you create, it will live in your Reels profile, where people can find any reels you’ve shared.

To share your reels to Instagram, you must be using your Facebook profile and have your Instagram and Facebook accounts added to the same Accounts Centre. At this time, you can only share a reel to Instagram from the Facebook app for iPhone and Android.

Once your accounts are added to the same Accounts Centre, you can share your reel to Instagram. Bear in mind that you can only share your reel from Facebook to one Instagram account at a time.

Note: The ability to share Facebook reels to Instagram is not currently available for people using Pages, profiles with professional mode, or additional profiles.
